Shannah Montessori School offers a warm, nurturing, Montessori-based education for children 18 months through 6 years of age. Located in the heart of Magnolia, Massachusetts, our school is nestled in a quaint, family-oriented seaside community where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn.

Small, But Wise

The name Shannah comes from the Irish word Shannon, meaning “small, but wise.” This meaning reflects our core belief: every child, though small in stature, carries great potential, inner strength, and wisdom waiting to be discovered.

For over 29 years, Shannah Montessori School has proudly partnered with families during their children’s most formative years. We intentionally maintain a small, close-knit school community, allowing us to truly know each child and tailor learning to their unique needs, interests, and developmental pace.

Montessori With a Strong Literary Foundation

At Shannah Montessori School, early literacy is thoughtfully woven into our daily curriculum. We combine the Montessori approach to language development with Orton-Gillingham–based, multisensory instruction to support phonemic awareness, letter-sound relationships, reading readiness, and early writing skills. This multi sensory,  integrated approach allows children to learn at their own pace while building a strong, confident foundation in literacy—supporting all learners and fostering a lifelong love of reading and language.
